 The State of Georgia has dropped your liability insurance and you think you are covered by Cobb County's policy? Here is the scoop on Cobb's policy: Covers 1. Civil cases and/or actions 2. Bodily injury when performing professional activities (up to $500,000) Does not cover 1. No more than $100,000 per claim or $500,000 per occurrence 2. No coverage for pain, suffering, emotional or mental harm 3. No punitive damages or expenses of litigation 4. Not covered if incident is not reported in a detailed outline within 48 hours 5. Coverage ceases if in the middle of a case and you have reached your $ limits 6. No coverage if the Board, any of its members, or the School District is the plaintiff against the employee. 7. No coverage if non-compliant with supervisor 8. No coverage if the claim brought forth against the employee would not be in the best interest of the Board or School District. 9. Coverage will only be provided in excess of any current coverage provided by an employee's policy of insurance from any source whatsoever (provides secondary coverage only). GAE/CCAE provides the following coverage: 1. $1 million liability insurance (per occurrence) 2. Grievances against employer or fellow employee 3. Pain, suffering and/or mental harm 4. Representation at all disciplinary meetings 5. Coverage does not cease in the middle of a case 6. Free legal services for job related issues 7. Primary insurer, no personal coverage used first 8. Claims of violation of any person's civil rights as protected by the Constitution of U.S. or any state, the Civil Rights Act, and the American with Disabilities Act
