CCAE wants YOU!!
Do you care about the future of Public Education?
Do you want to be a change maker?
Have you dreamed of public speaking? (ok, I doubt this one describes most people)
CCAE is looking for members to start training for leadership, both on a local level and a state level. All we ask is dedication and an open mind. We will be holding a Leadership Academy in March and we would like to train YOU to be the next generation of leaders. If you are interested in this program, please send an email to our president, Connie Jackson. You will be contacted and on your way to leadership!
No Teach for America for Cobb
At last night's school board meeting, the Superintendent withdrew his proposal to bring in 50 Teach for America candidates. This came as great news to CCAE and our members. We believe that the hard work of our members, the flood of emails against Teach for America, and the lobbying by our President and Governing Board made the difference! A great big THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to email, call, or attend the meeting! We have to remain vigilant, this will come back up again!
CCAE makes a difference everyday!

|
At the January 11th School Board meeting, Scott Sweeney was elected Board Chairperson for 2012 and David Morgan was elected Vice-Chair. The Board meeting calendar was set for 2012 and can be viewed on the Cobb County Schools website. CCAE is represented and present at ALL school board meetings, no other organization can say that! We will keep you informed of happenings at these meetings via this newsletter and on our facebook page. Please feel free to attend any meeting and say hi to our President, Connie Jackson, at the meeting. Our School Board will begin working on the 2012 - 2013 budget soon and CCAE will be there every step of the way to ensure the interests of our members are represented. |
Legislative Reception

A wonderful time was head by everyone in attendance. We want to thank all of our special guests that traveled in the unpleasant weather to join us for an evening of good food and good company.
